Artist as Family, Kirsten Bradley (co-founder, Milkwood Permaculture), and Lucas Ihlein led an informal discussion with members of the Futurelands2 audience in a natural amphitheatre among the pagodas at Ganguddy/Dunns Swamp.They discussed how writing, making, growing things, and dedicating time to sustainable and ethical practices in daily life can be seen as forms of art that foster new kinds of human-land relationships.

Futurelands2 was an initiative of a collective of artists called the Kandos School of Cultural Adaptation. It took place in November 2016 in the rural NSW town of Kandos. Featuring innovative farmers, Indigenous land custodians, soil scientists, economists, writers and artists, it explored emerging practices in land care, food and energy production.
